What we all did for his 13th Birthday
Building on the first page of this now two-pager, I decided to add a couple of series of photos from Logan’s birthday.
I also looked up what movies were showing that day and discovered that it was Zootopia that we had gone to see. I loved that movie and we ended up buying the DVD for it a few months later. We also took a turn in the photo booth at the cinema all making silly faces and changing positions for each new frame.
The boys also had cotton candy floss and a run through the video games arcade at TimeZone before the movie started.
Later that night we did a popcorn movie marathon night-in with a Star Wars movie marathon! So much fun, we all love Star Wars.
Post-Processing & Photo Manipulations
Not much special in regards to photo manipulations apart from adjusting colour, tone and exposure. I did, however, run NeatImage over most of the photos though as they were all a bit grainy from poor lighting and as the photo booth pics were already black and white, I decided to desaturate the cotton candy shot to go with that section of the layout.
Journaling
“@InnalooCinema: TimeZone, Cotton Candy Floss, Photobooth Pics, & watching Zootopia! Lots of laughs, heaps of fun for all. @Home: Chocolate Mud Cake, Sweet & Savoury Popcorn, Star Wars Movie Night!”
As an aside: My sons and I have a family tradition of drinking non-alcoholic Prosecco (a traditional Italian sparkling red wine) on every birthday, for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and for every celebration really. We always do this, but the glassware that I currently have is not great and my cake stand is just a cheap porcelain one. I used to have a large selection of beautiful Luigi Bormioli glasses from my Wedding Gift Registry. But, alas, glass and hard floors just don’t mix well together when you have young children, so over the years you can imagine that not much survived from my previous sets. Now that my sons are young adults, perhaps I can start buying some beautiful glassware again and teach my sons a little about wine etiquette while serving genuine Prosecco together with some delectable cake on a gorgeous cake stand … Thank goodness for Amazon Wish Lists!
